Billing refers to charging the Requester fees for services rendered. A fee is the cost charged by the agency for processing and delivering the requested documents to the Requester. A Requester can be billed at any stage of the Request process, and FOIA agencies sends bills to Requesters in the form of an invoice.
An invoice details the cost for each Fee Type, the total cost of all charges, as well as a description of the Request. Invoices are generated with a unique invoice number, date, Requester name and the corresponding Request number.
In the Billing section you can create an invoice and print an invoice to send to the Requester.
