Overview of ADX File

RedactXpress works with ADX files, which can be created from both the FOIAXpress (via Document Management and Request for Documents) and RedactXpress (standalone mode) applications. ADX files have the .adx file extension, and they contain encrypted data. ADX files are encrypted using the AES encryption algorithm. All data within an ADX file, including index information, is encrypted to ensure maximum security.

Information Stored in ADX files

ADX files contain the following information:

• Document Folders

• Redactions

• Request details

• Request Identification Number (ID)

• Subject/Description

• Request Type

• Requester

• Requester Category

• Target Date

• Remote Reviewer/Subject Matter Expert/Program Officer Details

• Sender Details

• Due Date to Respond

(!!) Notes:

When the file is created from the Document Management module, all selected document Folders (with redactions, if selected) are stored in the ADX file. This is done when documents are sent for consultation review.

When the file is created from the Request for Documents module, no Folders or redactions are added to it. The file will only contain the request details and other general information. In this case, the file is sent for adding documents and redactions.
