PAL Configuration

The PAL Configuration screen allows Administrators to enable the Public Access Link options.

(!!) Note: PAL Configuration will only be available if PAL was purchased by your agency.

Steps to Configure PAL

1. Click Administration > System Configuration > PAL Configuration. The PAL Configuration screen displays as shown below.
   

2. Configure the fields described below per your agency's requirements.

   Field	Description
   Enable PAL (Public Access Link) Options	This option reveals columns and fields for Action Offices, Request Types, Custom Fields, Requester Categories and Lookups, where Administrators can configure the type and amount of information to activate in PAL. Once enabled, an option to show the objects in PAL is revealed.    Once the objects are enabled to show in PAL, the objects will be synchronized in the PAL application based on the timing interval configured for the FOIAXpress Sync Service. Additionally, documents deemed for the Reading Room will be simultaneously copied into the designated location configured under Administration > System Configuration > General Configuration.
   Show Add to Reading Room Prompt When Closing Request	This field is revealed when PAL is enabled. The system displays a prompt to send responsive documents to the Reading Room as an option for records that are frequently requested.
   Enable Messages to Requester	Select this checkbox to enable the option of sending messages to Requesters
   Default Document Publishing Format	Select the default format to use when publishing documents in PAL. Options include: Multi-page file (TIF) PDF Archive PDF Image PDF Tagged (508 Compliant) Separate Single-Page Files

3. Click Save. A confirmation message displays.

4. Click OK.

PAL Request Assignment

You have the ability to configure how requests received through the PAL are assigned. This is done through PAL Configuration, and assignments are configured at the Action Office level. Follow the steps below to configure PAL Request Assignments.

1. From the PAL Configuration screen (Administration > System Configuration > PAL Configuration), then click PAL Request Assignments. The PAL Request Assignments screen appears as shown below:
   
2. Select the Action Office for which you'd like to configure assignments (click on the Action Office hyperlink)
3. The selected Action Office assignments appears in the Assignment/Notification Configuration screen, as shown below:
   
4. Select a Primary User for the action office requests
5. Select a Request Owner who will own incoming requests
6. Select the Action Office(s), Group(s) or User(s) to be notified of incoming requests in the Email Notification field by moving items from the left column to the right column.
7. Click OK when all settings are selected
8. When all Action Office Request Assignments are configured, click Save from the PAL Request Assignments screen to save the settings and return to PAL Configuration.
