The Find & Unredact feature allows you to search for an unredact words or phrases as needed. This is a useful tool when used in tandem with auto-redact features, letting you redact large volumes of documents, then unredact vital details from these automated redactions.
Follow the steps below to use the Find & Unredact feature:
Navigate to the DM folder containing the documents to be unredacted.
(!!) Note: To use the Find & Unredact feature, reactions must be present on the page(s) being redacted.
Right click in the navigation pane and click Find & Unredact as shown below:
After clicking Find & Unredact, the Find & Unredact screen appears as shown below.
Use the field labeled Find and Redact - Enter Words/Phrases on Separate Lines to enter words/phrases to be unredacted. Use line breaks to separate these items.
Under Page Range, select a range of pages where the unredact action will be applied.
Under Matching, select Exact Phrase Match to only unredact phrases exactly matching what was entered in Step 4, or Part of a Phrase to include any matching partial phrases.
Optionally, use the Redaction Codes field to enter any specific codes that should be unredacted.
When complete, click Find and Unredact to commit the unredact action.
The Review Layer Options pop up appears. Select Modify existing review layer to apply these changes to the existing review layer, or select Create new review layer to save the changes under a new review layer. If selecting to create a new layer, enter name in the field provided (or use the Select from List tool to selecting a default layer name).
Click OK to continue.
A Job Progress window appears while the job processes.
When complete, there are options to Download or Close Window. Click Download to download an excel-based Unredact Report. Otherwise, click Close Window to continue.
The DM window refreshes, with the unredacted items being visible in the workspace, as shown in the following example:
